The Anaheim Ducks announced on Friday that former Panthers goaltender Angus Redmond signed a three-year entry level contract with the team.
Redmond, 21, led Michigan Tech to a Western Collegiate Hockey Championship this past season. He earned WCHA All-Rookie Team honours and posted a 22-10-5 record, a 1.85 goals-against-average, a .917 save percentage, and four shutouts. The Langley native set a Michigan Tech record for wins by a freshman goaltender in 2016-17.
Redmond played 19 games with the Panthers in 2012-13, posting a 4-12-0-0 record, a 4.20 goals against average, and a .907 save percentage. He was recruited by Salmon Arm of the BCHL midway through that season and joined the SilverBacks in January 2013. Redmond would go on to play 132 career games in Salmon Arm during three and a half seasons, posting a 59-61-7 record, a 2.94 GAA, a .906 SV%, and eight shutouts.
