Andrew Ladd Named to BC Hockey Hall of Fame Class of 2026

The Port Moody Panthers are proud to congratulate Andrew Ladd on his induction into the BC Hockey Hall of Fame’s Class of 2026.

Ladd is an alumnus of the Panthers franchise from when it was located in Port Coquitlam as the Buckeroos. He played 42 games for the Bucks during the 2001-02 PJHL season, putting up 15 goals and 22 assists to finish fourth in team scoring as a 16-year-old. Ladd also made his Western Hockey League debut that season as an affiliate player for the Vancouver Giants.

His hockey journey carried him to the highest levels of the game, making his career one of the most accomplished by any player to come through the Panthers franchise.

Following his time with the Buckeroos, Ladd went on to an outstanding junior career in the BC Hockey League and WHL. He was selected in the first round, 4th overall, in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft after notching a 75-point season with the WHL’s Calgary Hitmen.

He enjoyed a lengthy and successful NHL career, highlighted by two Stanley Cup championships, international success with Team Canada at the World Championship and World Junior Championship levels, and a reputation as a strong leader both on and off the ice. Ladd, from Maple Ridge, B.C., was a captain or alternate captain for 11 out of his 17 NHL seasons.

He retired in September 2023 at age 37 after posting 256 goals and 294 assists in 1,001 games split between the Atlanta Thrashers, Winnipeg Jets, Chicago Blackhawks, New York Islanders, and Arizona Coyotes.

Ladd’s induction into the BCHHOF recognizes not only his elite playing career, but also the work ethic, professionalism, and character he displayed throughout his journey – qualities the Panthers organization continues to emphasize today.

Congratulations to Andrew Ladd and his family on this well-deserved honour.
