Position Title: Play-by-play broadcaster

Duration: Sept. 1, 2025 to March 2026

Rate: $60 / honorarium per game

Job Description: 

The Port Moody Panthers have a rare opportunity for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to provide play-by-play commentary for all home games during the 2025-26 regular season and playoffs.

The play-by-play broadcaster is a key member of the Panthers’ online presence, producing a professional, engaging broadcast on FloHockey for friends, family, and fans.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in an energetic, team-based sports environment in the Pacific Junior Hockey League. Please note that most events are on Sunday nights at the Port Moody Arena, and as such, applicants must be available to work those nights. There may also be a select number of Monday night events.

The successful candidate is required to commit to 3-4 hours per game, arriving a minimum of 60 minutes before the scheduled start time.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prepare game content in advance
  • Provide correct pronunciation for the names of players and coaches
  • Understand the rules and language of the sport

Qualifications:

  • Ability to work all Panthers home games (minimum of 23 games during the regular season)
  • Ability to exercise initiative and good judgment
  • Experience in sports media or broadcasting is an asset
  • Knowledge of hockey is an asset
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of people
  • Able to stand for long periods
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, communication, and organizational skills
