Panthers forward Ryden Mathieson has been selected as an alternate captain for the Pacific Junior Hockey League at the 2022 BC Hockey Conference Prospects Game.
This year’s game, which is the inaugural edition, will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 22 at the Sardis Sports Complex in Chilliwack.
In addition to being second in goals on the Panthers with eight, Mathieson is also second in scoring with 15 points in 18 games. He is an alternate captain for Port Moody this season and second on the team in power play points with five.
“Ryden is an exceptional part of our leadership core and we are thrilled to see his efforts recognized, not only by being selected to participate in the BCHC Prospects Game but also to be named an alternate captain for the PJHL,” said Panthers general manager Brian Wiebe.
The 18-year-old from Langley is currently on the 50-player protected list of the Prince George Cougars of the Western Hockey League.
