North Shore Warriors forward Nigel Ramlu signs with the Panthers

The Port Moody Panthers today announced the signing of 2007-born forward Nigel Ramlu for the 2024-25 Pacific Junior Hockey League season.

Ramlu spent 2023-24 with the North Shore Warriors Under-17 Prep team in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League’s U17 division and was an alternate captain for the squad. In 32 games, he tallied two goals and three assists for five points, adding an assist in four CSSHL U17 playoff games.

“I am excited to join the Port Moody Panthers because they are a good program with a good reputation. The coaches and players are all very welcoming and I can’t wait to get started!” said Ramlu, who’s from Delta.

In his first full season of junior hockey, Ramlu is eager to fit in well with the Panthers current group of players. “A few goals I have set for myself for this season are to constantly improve my strength and speed, and be a good teammate.”

Ramlu calls himself the type of forward who is reliable both offensively and defensively. “I would describe myself as a puck-moving two-way centre who plays well on both sides of the puck. I do my best to predict plays and create opportunities for both myself and my linemates.”

He spent the 2022-23 season with the Vancouver Whales Under-15 team in the Hockey Super League U15 division and finished with six goals and nine assists for 15 points in 32 games.

Ramlu will wear number 12 for Port Moody and is expected to make his Panthers debut tonight in Abbotsford against the Pilots.
