Panthers acquire Aujla from the Kodiaks

The Port Moody Panthers announced today that the club has acquired defender Sahijpal Aujla from the Aldergrove Kodiaks in exchange for forwards Tristan Lindsay and Evan Hays.

Aujla, a 2006-born blueliner, led the Kodiaks in scoring from the defence in 2023-24, with two goals and 11 assists for 13 points in 43 games as a rookie. His point total was more than double that of the next-highest-scoring defender on Aldergrove last season. His 11 assists also tied him for third-most on the Kodiaks and he finished second among all Aldergrove rookies in scoring.

A native of Surrey, Aujla is a product of the Valley West Giants U17 AAA team in the British Columbia Elite Hockey League. He posted four goals and six assists to total 10 points in 33 games with the Giants in 2022-23.

Lindsay and Hays were first-year players with the Panthers in 2023-24. A 2005-born forward from Maple Ridge, Lindsay posted two goals and two assists in 30 games. Hays, a 2007-born forward, hails from Whitehorse, Yukon, and put up one goal and two assists in 25 games.

The Panthers would like to thank Tristan and Evan for their efforts and dedication during their time with the team and wish him the best of luck with Aldergrove.
