Panthers acquire Brendan Aleong from Langley for future considerations

The Port Moody Panthers announced today that the club has acquired 2005-born defender Brendan Aleong from the Langley Trappers in exchange for future considerations.

Aleong recorded an assist in seven games with the Trappers this season. He posted a goal and nine assists in 29 games with Langley as a rookie in 2021-22. He also played eight playoff games for the Trappers last season, including one in the Cyclone Taylor Cup tournament, finishing with one assist.

The 5’10″, 160-pound blueliner was with the Delta Hockey Academy U16 Prep team in 2020-21 but only got into four games due to the pandemic. On the U16 DHA team during that 2020-21 season, Aleong was a teammate of current Panthers forward Dong Eun Lee.

He was part of Canadian Sport School Hockey League U15 Varsity championship teams in 2019 and 2020. A native of Anmore, BC, Aleong also finished with a goal and seven assists in 30 games for the West Van Academy U15 Varsity squad in 2018-19.

Aleong makes his Panthers debut in Saturday’s game at home against White Rock.
