Panthers acquire Gutsu from the Ice Hawks

The Port Moody Panthers announced today that the club acquired forward Oleksandr Gutsu from the Delta Ice Hawks in exchange for forward Dawson Toledo.

Gutsu, a 2005-born forward, played 12 games with Delta this season, registering two goals and three assists for five points. He started the 2023-24 season with the U18 AAA Cleveland Barons and posted three goals and five assists for eight points in 23 games.

The product of Odessa, Ukraine put up 12 goals and 16 assists for 28 points in 29 games for the U17 New Hampshire Jr. Monarchs in 2022-23. Gutsu also played eight games with BK Nová Paka of Krajska hokejova liga, which is the fourth tier of Czechian professional hockey and finished with three goals and two assists.

Toledo, who’s also a 2005-born forward, got into 27 games in Port Moody this season after signing with the Panthers in September. He had six goals and six assists for a dozen points.
