Panthers acquire Ryan Ashe and future considerations from the Whalers

The Port Moody Panthers announced today that the club has acquired 2007-born forward Ryan Ashe and future considerations from the White Rock Whalers in exchange for 2004-born forwards Connor Hughes and Ty Balchen.

Ashe, from Delta, B.C., had three assists in 12 games with the Whalers as a first-year player this season. The 6’0″, 184 lbs. forward spent the 2023-24 season with the Greater Vancouver Canadians U18 AAA team in the BC Elite Hockey League. In 29 games, Ashe finished with five goals and four assists.

He also played two games with the Richmond Sockeyes as an affiliate player last season and notched his first career PJHL point with an assist in a game last October.

The Panthers would like to thank Connor and Ty for their contributions to the team over the last four seasons and wish them the best of luck in White Rock.
