Panthers acquire Thompson from the Pilots

The Port Moody Panthers announced today that the club has acquired defender Kolton Thompson from the Abbotsford Pilots in exchange for future considerations. He is the brother of Panthers defender Bradley Thompson, who was reacquired via a trade earlier this off-season.

Thompson is a versatile 2007-born skater who can play defense and forward. He got into 22 games between the Pilots and Port Coquitlam Trailblazers as a 16-year-old during the 2023-24 season, registering two assists.

The product of Maple Ridge put up three goals and four assists for seven points in 35 games for the Vancouver North East Chiefs U17 AAA in the BC Elite Hockey League during the 2022-23 season. Thompson also played five games that season as a 15-year-old affiliate player with the Panthers.

He is an alumnus of the Ridge Meadows Minor Hockey Association who was also an affiliate player for the NE Chiefs U15 AAA team 2021-22.
