Panthers acquire Thrift from the Flames

The Port Moody Panthers today announced the acquisition of defenseman Nathan Thrift from the Ridge Meadows Flames in exchange for future considerations.

Thrift, a 2004-born blueliner, played eight games with the Flames as a rookie this season and posted a pair of assists.

The Port Moody, BC product was with the Port Moody Amateur Hockey Association U18 team in 2020-21 but didn’t get into any games due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

He will make his Panthers debut on Saturday at home against the Chilliwack Jets. Puck drop is 7:45 pm at the Port Moody Arena. Admission is $10 and is available at the door. Proof of vaccination protocols is in place.
