Panthers alumnus Carson Latimer included on final 2021 NHL Central Scouting draft rankings

The Port Moody Panthers are thrilled to recognize Carson Latimer, who is included on NHL Central Scouting’s final rankings for the 2021 NHL Draft to be held on July 23-24.

Latimer, who started the 2020-21 season with the Panthers before joining the Edmonton Oil Kings of the Western Hockey League, is the 149th ranked North American skater on the list.

The 18-year-old from Surrey, BC had a goal and 11 assists to finish with 12 points in eight games as a rookie with the Panthers in 2020-21. His 11 assists tied him for the most in the Pacific Junior Hockey League this season and his 12 points were tied for fourth-best in the league.

Latimer joined the Oil Kings in February for their WHL hub season and promptly tallied five goals and 11 assists for 16 points in 22 games. His 16 points were eighth-best among all freshmen in the WHL this season.

He is the first player in franchise history to be ranked by NHL Central Scouting for the NHL Draft in the same season he played for the Panthers.
