Panthers announce BCIT alumnus Zach Clarke as new play-by-play broadcaster

The Port Moody Panthers today announced the hiring of Zach Clarke as the team’s play-by-play broadcaster for the 2024-25 Pacific Junior Hockey League season.

Clarke graduated last month from the BCIT Broadcast and Online Journalism Program and has been the Broadcast Director for the White Rock Whalers for the past two seasons. His duties with the Whalers include managing all aspects of their FloHockey online broadcast, including play-by-play for all home games, and managing the team’s social media content.

He also served as play-by-play broadcaster for the Port Coquitlam Trailblazers during the 2023-24 season, including finding sponsors for their FloHockey online broadcast. Additionally, Clarke has experience calling games in the Junior Prospects Hockey League and for BC Hockey at the U18 Tier Provincial Tournament.

In addition to his play-by-play experience, Clarke is also currently a board operator and producer at Sportsnet 650 radio in Vancouver.

Clarke takes over from Nick MacDonald, who stepped down from the Panthers broadcast after eight years at the helm. Clarke’s first broadcast with the Panthers is expected to be in August as the team opens its pre-season schedule, to be announced at a later date.
