The Pacific Junior Hockey League announced its selections for the Tom Shaw Conference All-Star Team earlier this month, and among the names is Panthers captain Connor Hughes. The Coquitlam, B.C. product’s selection is a testament to his outstanding performance and leadership this season.
Hughes was a standout player for the Panthers in 2023-24, consistently demonstrating skill, passion, and determination. His stats were remarkable, as he led the Panthers in goals, assists, and points. Hughes also topped all Panthers players in power play and shorthanded points. His three game-winning goals were also tied for first on the team.
Being named to the postseason All-Star Team is a significant honour, and places Hughes among the top players in the Tom Shaw Conference. His 73 points were good enough to place him sixth overall in PJHL scoring. His 30 goals were tied for sixth-most on the season and his 43 assists placed him alone in sixth among all PJHL skaters in 2023-24.
