Panthers hire Cole Iantorno as game day athletic trainer

The Port Moody Panthers announced today the hiring of Cole Iantorno as the team’s game-day athletic trainer for the 2023-24 season.

Iantorno is a kinesiologist and strength trainer at Manhas Health Co., which is a health and wellness company in Coquitlam. He is a graduate of Simon Fraser University, receiving a Bachelor of Science with a major in Kinesiology specializing in Active Health and Rehabilitation Concentration. He is an active member of the British Columbia Association of Kinesiology.

The 25-year-old from Coquitlam is a Panthers alumnus, who tallied 17 goals and 37 points in 120 games with Port Moody from 2013 to 2017. He served as an alternate captain for the Panthers in his final season of 2016-17 and sits 11th all-time in games played in franchise history.

“Rejoining the Panthers organization as the game day athletic trainer is exciting since the position provides a great opportunity for growth in allied health care,” said Iantorno. “Working with the Panthers’ high-performing athletes will be a great adaptation of my clinical practice to on-ice kinesiology.”

Iantorno takes over from Mason Chong and Gaëlle Bergeron, who split the athletic trainer duties for the Panthers in 2022-23. Chong was recently hired by the Surrey Eagles of the BCHL to be their team trainer while Bergeron accepted a job in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League earlier this summer.
