Panthers hire Steve Suh as Associate Athletic Trainer

The Port Moody Panthers announced today the hiring of Steve Suh as the team’s Associate Athletic Trainer for the 2024-25 season.

Suh is currently a student in the Bachelor of Kinesiology program at Simon Fraser University, specializing in Active Health and Rehabilitation. He has supplementary experience as a peer mentor in SFU’s Biomedical Physiology and Kinesiology Peer Mentorship program and as a clinical assistant for SFU Sport Medicine.

The 24-year-old from Coquitlam also served as a volunteer with the Coquitlam Express of the British Columbia Hockey League during the 2023-24 season as a member of the team’s medical staff and as a first responder.

“Getting the opportunity to join the Panthers organization and take on the role of an associate athletic trainer has me very excited for the upcoming season, and I hope to contribute to the team’s success on the ice,” said Suh. “This is going to make for a meaningful and positive experience.”

Suh joins Panthers Head Athletic Trainer and Strength and Conditioning Coach Cole Iantorno on the team’s training staff. During the 2024-25 season, Suh will act as trainer at select Panthers practices in addition to aiding Iantorno at some of Port Moody’s games. Suh takes over from Mauricio Soriano-McKinnon, who stepped down at the end of the 2023-24 season. Soriano-McKinnon will continue to help the Panthers out as a volunteer trainer as his schedule permits.
