The Port Moody Panthers are proud to announce the signing of 2008-born defender Ayden Butler for the 2025-26 Pacific Junior Hockey League season..
Butler spent 2024-25 with the U18 A1 Rustlers in the Ridge Meadows Minor Hockey Association. He was also an affiliate player for the Panthers, getting into five games.
“I’m excited to play for the Panthers because it’s a great opportunity for me to grow as a player and to be part of a great organization. The positive energy from the team has been amazing, and I can’t wait to get started!” said Butler, who’s from Maple Ridge.
Butler is eager to generate offence from the Panthers blue line in his first full season of junior hockey. “My goals for this season are to continue improving my offensive game as well as getting stronger. I’m focused on becoming a more consistent scoring threat to make an impact every time I step on the ice.”
He calls himself an all-around blueliner who likes to have a positive impact on the game. “I would describe myself as a smooth-skating offensive defenceman who sees the ice clearly. I like to jump into the play, create scoring chances while still being reliable for my team in the defensive zone. I take pride in being a hard-working player and a good teammate who puts the team first.”
Butler is the first recruit signed by the Panthers for the 2025-26 season and will join the team when training camp begins at the Port Moody Recreation Complex in August.
