The Port Moody Panthers announced today that the team has signed 2008-born defender Cameron Chan for the 2026-27 Pacific Junior Hockey League season.
Chan spent the 2025-26 season as a blueliner with the Burnaby Minor Hockey Association U18 A1 team, while also appearing in two games at the BC Elite Hockey League U18 AAA level as an affiliate player with the Greater Vancouver Canadians.
“I am excited for the opportunity to compete at the next level and to be a part of the Panthers community,” said Chan.
During the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons, Chan also suited up for Burnaby MHA U18 A1. He had an affiliate player stint with the Vancouver NE Chiefs U15 AAA program in the BCEHL U15 during the 2022-23 season while he was also a rostered member of the Burnaby Minor Hockey Association U15 A1 team.
“I want to continue to develop into a steady two-way defenseman who is reliable defensively and can create offensive opportunities,” noted Chan.
Before his recent U18 campaigns, Chan developed through the Burnaby MHA system, alongside playing for Burnaby North in high school competition.
“I would describe myself as a playmaker who can find lanes and create offence,” explained Chan.
Chan is the third newly announced recruit signed by the Panthers for the 2026-27 PJHL season, joining forward Logan Cyr and defender David Zhang.
