The Port Moody Panthers are excited to announce the signing of 2005-born forward Dylan Emerson for the 2022-23 Pacific Junior Hockey League season.
Emerson, a resident of Port Moody, played with the Vancouver North East Chiefs U18 AAA of the BC Elite Hockey League in 2021-22 and tied for seventh in scoring with 11 goals and 15 assists in 35 games.
He also got into one game as an affiliate player for the BC Hockey League’s Chilliwack Chiefs, a 6-2 win over Nanaimo at the Chilliwack Coliseum on Feb. 4. After making his junior hockey debut in the BCHL last season, Emerson is excited about playing in the PJHL this season.
“I’m looking forward to developing my game at the junior level. Playing against older players will definitely be a challenge and one I am ready for,” said Emerson.
Emerson is enthusiastic about donning a Panthers jersey this coming season.
“Growing up in Port Moody, playing for your hometown team is always special. I am excited to play for an organization that works hard to help young players be their best,” explained Emerson.
“I want to help the Panthers have a successful regular season and definitely help the team make the playoffs,” he added.
Emerson skated at the Burnaby Winter Club in the COVID-19 shortened 2020-21 season, posting a goal and three assists in five games with the BWC U16 team in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League. He looks forward to being a big part of Port Moody’s forward group in 2022-23.
“I’m a gritty 200-foot player with good speed and a great shot. I always play with a physical presence while remaining disciplined. I’m a team-first player who pushes myself and my teammates to be their best,” mentioned Emerson.
Emerson joins Matthew Ng, Nick Dunn, and Ty Balchen as recruited players signed by the Panthers for the 2022-23 PJHL season.
