The Port Moody Panthers today announced the signing of 2005-born forward Dane Paulic for the 2023-24 Pacific Junior Hockey League season.
Paulic spent the 2022-23 season with the Burnaby Bulldogs Under 18 A1 team in the Burnaby Minor Hockey Association. He played for the Burnaby Bulldogs U18 C3 team in 2021-22 while being an affiliate player for the A2 team. He is looking forward to making the jump to Junior A hockey in Port Moody.
“Playing junior hockey has always been a huge goal of mine. I am grateful for the opportunity to both contribute and further develop within such a great organization,” said Paulic, who’s from Burnaby.
He finished 13th overall in scoring playing spring hockey in the Fraser Valley Super League with Chilliwack, tallying nine goals and five assists in nine games. Paulic has high expectations for himself in his first season of junior hockey.
“One of my goals is to start off the year strong. I need to get myself going early in the season and establish myself as a solid player,” described Paulic. “Another goal is to make it through my first year with at least 20 goals. If I set my mind to these goals and play hard, I know I will be able to achieve them.”
He sees himself as the type of forward who never takes a shift off and can drive play in the offensive zone. “I would describe myself as a hard worker who is willing to do anything for the team. (I’m) a fantastic passer with excellent vision who also knows how to put the puck in the net efficiently,” Paulic added.
Paulic joins forwards Wesley Suszezwiez, Marcus Lindholm, Mark Wu, Nicolas Lee, Tristan Lindsay, Daegun Chong, and Sahib Basra, defenders Tyson Segarty, Lucas Crescenzo, Matthew Kim, Ethan Chu, and Horen Wang, and goaltender Ty Angus as 14 incoming players to sign with the Panthers for the 2023-24 PJHL season.
