North Vancouver Minor Hockey Association U21 goaltender Lucas Poratto signs with the Panthers

The Port Moody Panthers today announced the signing of 2003-born goaltender Lucas Poratto for the 2023-24 Pacific Junior Hockey League season.

Poratto spent the 2022-23 season with the North Vancouver Minor Hockey Association Storm U21 A1 team.

After making 17 saves in 29:41 of action for the Panthers during the pre-season, Poratto can’t wait to get things going with Port Moody in the regular season. “I’m excited to play with the Panthers this season because I get to play in front of amazing fans and also to enjoy all the experiences that come with junior hockey,” said Poratto, who hails from North Vancouver.

Previously, Poratto played his entire minor hockey career at the North Shore Winter Club. Despite being a 20-year-old netminder, he continues to try and improve his game.

“Some goals I’ve set with myself this year are that I want to improve my rebound control and have quicker hands,” said Poratto, who describes himself as the type of goalie who keeps his cool between the pipes. “I’m calm and composed and think of myself as more of a technical type of goalie. I’m also very competitive.”

Poratto joins forwards Wesley Suszezwiez, Marcus Lindholm, Mark Wu, Nicolas Lee, Tristan Lindsay, Daegun Chong, Sahib Basra, and Dane Paulic, defenders Tyson Segarty, Lucas Crescenzo, Matthew Kim, Ethan Chu, and Horen Wang, and goaltender Ty Angus as 15 incoming players to sign with the Panthers for the 2023-24 PJHL season.
