Panthers captain Jobey Pearson signs with the OJHL’s Aurora Tigers

The Port Moody Panthers are proud to announce that captain Jobey Pearson has signed with the Ontario Junior Hockey League’s Aurora Tigers for the 2023-24 season.

Pearson is a 2004-born forward from North Vancouver, B.C. who was named captain of the Panthers on Jan. 28 this past season and finished 2022-23 with 13 goals and 20 assists for 33 points in 47 games. He signed with the B.C. Hockey League’s Alberni Valley Bulldogs as an affiliate player in January.

His 33 points were second on the team in scoring and his seven power play assists were tied for second among all Panthers players. Pearson also finished the season tied for second on the team in game-winning goals.

Acquired from the North Van Wolf Pack at the 2022 PJHL trade deadline, Pearson has 15 goals and 25 assists in 57 career games in Port Moody split between the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons.

The 5-foot-11, 175-pound forward is the fourth player from last season’s Panthers team to advance to a higher level, joining forwards Dylan Emerson and Ryden Mathieson (BCHL) and defender Johnny Lopez (OJHL). Pearson is the ninth player in the last three years to sign with a Major Junior or junior A team from the Panthers.
