Panthers alum Callum Tung invited to Calgary Flames and Florida Panthers development camps

Port Moody Panthers alum Callum Tung will attend the Calgary Flames and Florida Panthers development camps this summer. The dates and locations for each camp haven’t been unveiled yet.

Tung, who led all Panthers goalies with a 3.11 goals-against average and a .929 save percentage in eight games during the 2022-23 season, played in the B.C. Hockey League in 2023-24 with the Alberni Valley Bulldogs. The Port Moody native finished the year with a 22-14-0 record, a 2.80 goals-against average, a .917 save percentage, and three shutouts. He was number-one among all BCHL goaltenders in saves with 1,118.

In 143 career BCHL games, Tung, 20, posted a 24-15-0 record, a 2.87 goals-against average, a .914 save percentage, and three shutouts. He was 11-7 in 19 career BCHL playoff games, improving his goals-against average to 2.16 and save percentage to .939.

Tung is committed to attending the University of Connecticut to play NCAA Division I hockey starting this September. This is the second straight year a former Panthers player will attend an NHL development camp after Carson Latimer skated with the Minnesota Wild last summer.
