The Port Moody Panthers are excited to welcome Dawson McFarlane as the new play-by-play broadcaster for the upcoming 2025-26 Pacific Junior Hockey League season.
McFarlane brings a strong foundation of junior hockey broadcasting experience to the Panthers’ booth. Most recently, he served as the voice of the Princeton Posse from 2019 to 2025, calling hundreds of Kootenay International Junior Hockey League games and becoming a familiar voice to fans across the league. In addition to his on-air duties, he served as the Posse’s Director of Communications for the past two seasons, overseeing media relations, social media, and digital content creation.
This past season, McFarlane also worked as a colour commentator for the BC Hockey League’s West Kelowna Warriors, appearing on three broadcasts. In 2023, he served as the public address announcer for the 18U College Prep Penticton Tigers Baseball club, further showcasing his versatility behind the microphone.
A passionate and emerging talent in the world of sports broadcasting, McFarlane will take the next step in his career this fall when he enters the BCIT Radio Arts and Entertainment program.
“We’re thrilled to bring Dawson on board,” said Panthers General Manager Brian Wiebe. “His experience, enthusiasm, and understanding of the junior hockey landscape make him a great fit for our organization and a voice our fans will enjoy listening to.”
McFarlane will make his Panthers debut when the team plays its pre-season games later this month.
